Hollywood Style Inspirations

My next assignment is to imitate four different old Hollywood style portraits exactly and then make a modern interpretation of those photographs. Here are a few images I have found to inspire me taken by respective photographers of this era.

Dorothy Lamour

Microscopic Photography

I found some really awesome pictures on a yahoo article taken at a microscopic view. The first is of cancer dividing and the second is of a baby mollusk.

Doomsday Miscalculated

Apparently researchers of Mayan history have found that our translations of Mayan calendars have been wrong. So much so that we could be anywhere from 50 to 100 years off, meaning that the end of the world could have already happened or will happen a lot later. At any rate, who ever believes in this will be startled to know that they in fact now don't know when the end of the world is much like the rest of us that have never really known. Paul Hedlund

Paul Hedlund is a homeless photographer. He had a thriving business on the East Coast until he decided he needed to move to the West Coast and look at photography in a different way. He now wanders the streets taking photographs and selling them at the local Trader Joe's for $5 to $10. It has taken him this experience to realize that all you need is a camera and light to be a good photographer and that is what he is doing. Here are a few of his shots. Enjoy.

Assignment 5 - Painting with Light

This assignment required me to paint with light either at night outside or a really dark room. I had to shoot a product, a portrait, and a landscape. As always, I took so many good ones that it was hard for me to decide which ones to place on my blog, but here goes.

Some More Portraits - Going for a creepy, ghostly feel.
