Journey to the Cape...

This past weekend we went to the Cape for a day trip.  I love the Cape. I interned there one summer at a wildlife rehab center - Cape Wildlife Center. It was the most rewarding work I think I will ever do.

My sister in law Sakina is interning there over the summer at the Chatham Bars Inn, so we went to see her and hang out for the day.

Some awesome lantana at the Inn

Beautiful hydrangea at the Inn

So when we went we had to hit one of my favorite spots - PB Boulangerie.
Enjoying our goodies

They have the best bread. My favorite that I always get a few loaves of is the Fromage. It has bits of cheese baked into it and is just divine. I had visions of all the sandwiches I could have this week so we bought four loaves this time. It's great because I can just freeze what I don't use right off the bat. Anytime I want I can just return to the Cape in one cheesy bite!
The paninis I made with "the bread"
After our snack, we ventured out to see the Nauset Lighthouse. It was a beautiful sight to see, as most lighthouses are.
Right next to the Lighthouse was a great beach with lots of surfers. As you can see from the picture, it was a bit stormy that day. The ocean was in perfect condition for surfers. There were some great waves for them. I was a little worried for them though not because of the waves but there were seals swimming with them. Where there are seals, there is a very high chance of sharks. The surfers wetsuits look very much like a seal so it's easy for the shark to think the surfers are their next meal!

All in all, it was an awesome day. Can't wait to go visit again. There will always be a special place in my heart for Cape Cod.
